データスペースの技術コンセプト「Open Data Spaces」の共同推進を合意
我が国の主要なデータスペースの技術的取組が連携され、国際相互運用性確保に前進
東京大学 大学院情報学環 は、データスペースの技術コンセプト及びそれを構成する技術仕様として、新たに「Open Data Spaces」を我が国におけるデータスペース取組の共通仕様と位置付け、共同で持続的に改善、推進することを、独立行政法人情報処理推進機構 (IPA、理事長：齊藤裕)、一般社団法人データ社会推進協議会（DSA、代表理事：奥井規晶）、ロボット革命・産業IoTイニシアティブ協議会（RRI、会長：東原敏昭）と合意しました。今回の合意を踏まえ、経済産業省が推進するウラノス・エコシステム関連の取組だけではなく、DSAが推進するDATA-EX、RRIにおける産業データ連携に関する国内外活動等を含む、我が国における主要なデータスペースの取組は、Open Data Spacesの技術的コンセプトのもと連携されることになります。
IPAは、関連する団体と連携しながら、Open Data Spacesの推進と発信を円滑に実施するための事務局機能を設置し、産官学の協力のもと本技術コンセプトの取りまとめと普及・推進を担います。また、IPAではOpen Data Spacesを広く周知、推進し、世界規模で産業・技術コミュニティを巻き込んでいくための国際イベント「Open Data Spaces Summit（仮称）」の開催を予定しています。なお、今後のOpen Data Spacesに関する情報発信は、この度新たに公開したOpen Data Spaces公式ウェブサイト（https://www.ipa.go.jp/digital/opendataspaces）にて掲載される予定です。

Agreement to Jointly Promote the Dataspace Technical Concept As “Open Data Spaces”
Advancing progress toward international interoperability
Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, The University of Tokyo has reached an agreement with Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan, the Data Society Alliance (DSA), and Robot Revolution & Industrial IoT Initiative (RRI), to newly designate “Open Data Spaces” — a technical concept for dataspaces and its accompanying technical-specification suite — as the common specification for dataspaces initiatives in Japan and to jointly promote it.
Based on the decision announced herein, major dataspace initiatives in Japan will be aligned within the technical concept of Open Data Spaces including activities both domestic and international undertaken by DSA under the DATA-EX initiative, and industrial data sharing activities under the RRI in addition to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)’s Ouranos-related initiatives.
In cooperation with the relevant organizations, IPA will establish a secretariat to facilitate the promotion and dissemination of Open Data Spaces. Also, through public–private–academic collaboration, IPA will lead efforts to consolidate, publicize, and advance this technical concept. IPA also plans to convene an international event, provisionally titled the “Open Data Spaces Summit,” aimed at engaging industry and technical communities worldwide. Going forward, updates and information about Open Data Spaces will be published on the newly launched official website: https://www.ipa.go.jp/en/digital/opendataspaces.
